Welcome to CODA South Africa

MEETINGS:  http://www.codasouthafrica.co.za/directions.php

Co-dependents Anonymous is a program of recovery from codependency and is a fellowship of men and women whose common purpose is to develop healthy relationships.

CoDA is a place where each of us may share our experience, strength and hope in our efforts to find freedom where there has been bondage and peace where there has been turmoil in our relationships with others and ourselves.  CoDA follows a Twelve Step Program that is a central part of its suggested recovery programme.

The only requirement for membership to CoDA is a desire for healthy and loving relationships. This means that all kinds of people attend meetings. Individual members can and do have differing political, religious and other affiliations, but since these are not relevant to the business of recovery from co-dependency, no comment is made about them

What is Co-Dependency?

If you are new to CoDA and the concept of co-dependency, you may be wondering  "Am I codependent?"

At CoDA, we offer no definition or diagnostic criterion for codependence. What we do offer is a list of patterns and characteristics as a tool to aid in self evaluation and our meetings serve as a safe and anonymous place to recover from these patterns and characteristics.

CoDA has developed a set of Tools for Recovery that assist Newcomers looking for more information on codependence.

Where do I go for help?

CoDA meetings provide a safe and anonymous space to work through any issues arising from co-dependence. You can find a list of meetings on this website and are welcome to just arrive. It is recommended to go to 6 meetings before deciding if the program will work for you.

Along with regular meetings it is a good idea to find a sponsor to guide you through your recovery and to help you work the 12 Step Program.

CoDA South Africa has a number of meetings that run in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Port Elisabeth.

How do I get in touch?

CoDA membership is offered to anyone with a desire for healthy and loving relationships.
